Ok, while this is not related at all to photography, weddings, etc., it is related to family. So, I just have to pass it on. This is just about the best stuff I’ve ever tasted; I’m sure there are tons of similar recipes out there but I haven’t found em! This was given to me by a friend (hi Gary!) who got it from a friend, etc.; I have no idea where it actually comes from.

Creamy Jalapeno

Ingredients:

  • 1 envelope Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix
  • mayonnaise (Hellman’s preferred) buttermilk
  • whole or sliced pickled jalapenos, drained

Prepare the Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix according to the package directions. Mayo and buttermilk are required; do not substitute Miracle Whip or sour cream.

Be sure to check the package directions: Hidden Valley mix comes in 2 sizes.

Do not use the dip mix; only the dressing mix.

Finely dice jalapeno peppers, including seeds and ribs; add approximately 8 tablespoons of diced peppers to 1 qt. dressing mix to start. Adjust, or use hotter or milder, peppers according to taste.
