Mayfield Park Portraits

A while back I took my sister from South Carolina down to Mayfield Park in central Austin to photograph them “in the wild”. We had a wonderful time, even more so than expected because of the peacocks.  I guess the curators have been working at watering and tending the grounds – everything was beautiful even during our draught. The Austin 360 Bridge Overlook

We all know about the Austin 360 bridge (aka the Pennybacker bridge); it spans the Lower Colorado River on Loop 360 and is uniquely Austin. There are so many cool angles and views around the bridge that it just makes a perfect place for photography. One of the important characteristics of a good photograph is “place”; where the photograph is taken and what it says about the person in the photograph. A Texas Location for a Photograph

I went looking to see if a bridal portrait could work at the park area near Memorial Park in Round Rock and came across this spot. It is simply Texas at it’s best for peacefulness, trees and rugged rocks. I love this area; go check it out if you’re looking to get a portrait done somewhere in the area.
